Philament Electrical products are used mainly in the electronics and automotive industry where electrostatic charging of the printed object can damage the product. Objects printed with Philament CONDUCTIVE, ESD or ANTISTATIC do not charge electrostatically due to the special carbon and chemical additives. Additionally, the dust and fine powder does not stick on the surface.
To decide for which application which filament suits the best, can be determined mainly experimentally. It depends on the electrical and mechanical requirements of the objects, and the 3D printing parameters. Philament Antistatic has the best mechanical properties, similar to standard PLA. Philament Conductive is the most rigid in this line, because of the used carbon powder and fiber, required for conductivity. Philament ESD is somewhere in the middle range.
Philament Antistatic: its main feature is the immediate and permanent antistatic effect. Its important characteristic also that it does not absorb the moisture content of the air. It keeps most physical properties of PLA, and it has increased impact strength compared to PLA. It can be produced in any color. No sloughing, off gassing or blooming.
For proper printing results use PLA printing settings: we recommend 210-230 °C printing temperature, at least 0.2 mm nozzle, and printing speed no higher than 90 mm / sec. Bed temperature 40-60 °C, usually any type of surface can be used.

Philament Conductive provides surface resistance at megaohm order of magnitude, but this highly depends on the size and shape of the printed object. As a rule of thumb, if the printing temperature is higher, the surface resistivity is lower.
For proper printing results we recommend 210-240 °C printing temperature, at least 0.4 mm nozzle, and printing speed no higher than 60 mm / sec. Bed temperature 40-60 °C, usually any type of bed surface can be used.
Objects printed with Philament Foam have got a foamy, spongy texture. The hard 3D printed foam has open cell structure. Due to the foamed structure, the layers are barely visible, and it has a nice, smooth surface. However, it can be easily sanded, cut, painted and shaped as needed. The beige color variant looks natural and the black one has a particularly shiny matte finish.
The structure of the foam, the quality and structure of the surface can be widely modified by changing the printing settings.
Objects with the required density and foam structure can be printed by setting the parameters accordingly.
At higher temperatures, lower flow and speed, and with a large nozzle the lightest foam can be produced. Using the standard PLA settings, the result is a tough foam and impact resistance. The density of an object made of Philament Foam is 50-60% of that of an object printed with standard PLA. Depending on the settings, it can be varied from 0.6 g / cm3 up to 1.2 g / cm3.
Philament Foam is suitable for applications where light 3D printed objects are needed, e.g. automotive industry, modelling or founding. Its foamed structure can be exploited in printing art objects, sculptures, and biologically active substrates. It can be applied as support material also.
Philament Antiviral provides antimicrobial protection for the entire lifetime of 3D printed products. The active substance, built in to the PLA matrix, has been shown to deactivate many kinds of viruses and has been tested to be effective against Feline Coronavirus, H1N1 and Norovirus viruses, among others. The latest tests (according to ISO 21702) by the producer of the active substance confirmed, that the reduction of Covid-19 (SARS-CoV-2) germs is much faster than in the control samples without active substance. Thus, the active substance can be used effectively in the protection against Covid-19, however, the antiviral activity of the 3D printed product has to be tested by the manufacturer of the final product in a specialized laboratory.
The PLA raw material of PLA Advanced was developed especially for manufacturing 3D printing filaments, which has to meet higher printing needs. The objects printed with this filament are stronger and more durable.
Philament PLA Advanced also has a higher heat resistance, up to 85 0C. With this value, it also competes against PETG and ABS filaments. This filament is less brittle, and with excellent layer adhesion we can achieve an exceptionally even surface and more precise printing. The surface of printed object can be shiny at elevated printing temperature and matt at lower temperature, but this depends on the printer also.
Philament Support is a PLA-based filament, developed for 3D printings which need support.
As opposed to the soluble support materials Philament Support is an easy to break-away filament, so the vast majority of the support material can be removed quickly. Any remaining support on the surface can be completely removed by sanding. The result is a clean printing surface, there is no or minimal need for post-processing.
Also suitable for printing the complexly structured supports. It is compatible with FDM filaments and works well with them.
Printing with Philament Support is simple, settings are similar to PLA’s: printing temperature 190-215 0C, bed temperature 60 0C.
Philament Gypsum – just like Philament Model and Essence – is member of the product group containing gypsum. Their common characteristic is that the added gypsum changes the usual properties of the plastic, both functionally and aesthetically. The mineral content of Philament Essence is minimal, it does not contains pigments, and this combination resulted in an easy-to-use filament. The surface of printed objects is homogeneous and matt. Layers are barely visible, even in case of objects with shorter printing time, and the usual surface roughness is blurred. Mechanical post-processing of objects (polishing, carving, etc.) is easier than in case of standard PLA.
Philament Cleaner was designed for cleaning the extruder and the nozzle. This special filament incorporates short glass fibers thus removes staining and polishes the inner surface. Recommendation of use: print about 20 cm filament which cleans the extruder. If the outflow material clean, it means that the extruder is also clean. In some cases a little bit more material is needed. The efficiency of the cleaning process could increase, if you stop the printing for a while and then continue it. Regular use of Philament Cleaner reduces the plugging, increase the shelf life of the extruder. It is also strongly recommended if you changes often the different colored filaments or swap different raw materials.
Thanks to special additives and pigments, Philament PLA is characterized by easy printability and saturated colors. Even when you print in one layer, you will get the same color you see on the spool. Printable in a wide temperature and printing speed range. The Philament PLA can be used without heated bed, and even with an open 3D printer you will get good printing quality.
Philament PLA Budget filament, just like other Philament PLA products, provide excellent printing results. Their shrinkage is minimal, you can print them even on an unheated bed. They are available in black, white, blue, red and silver gray colors, on 750 gram rolls at a reasonable price.
PETG is an ideal choice for 3D printing when reduced warping and high heat resistance are important requirements. Objects printed with PETG are heat resistant up to 85° C, and they are also resistant to chemical influences (e.g. chemicals, solvents, biologically active agents). Printing with PETG is almost as simple as with PLA. PETG is odorless when printing.
Two colors on one spool: A total of 1 kg of PLA filament in two colors (colors can’t be selected), approximately equally proportioned. One of the colors is usually black or white. It is easy to use the filament from the spool, the two colors are separated and paralell winded. Diameter: 1,75 mm.
This PLA-based filament offers enhanced possibilities for industrial applications. The thermal stability of objects printed with Philament Engineering is extremely high, they could bear up to 140 °C heat, without any heat treatment after printing. Philament Engineering has excellent impact resistant and durability properties compared to the basic PLA. This performance is due to different additives and lubricants. Based on the tests, the printed objects do not warp and they keep their shape well. Thanks to this characteristics, Philament Engineering can be used for metal replacement also. The surface of objects printed with Philament Engineering filament is matt.
